As the day goes on, the beginning draws near. The NFL Season opener between the defending Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints kicks off tonight.
The anticipation for many fans has built up through the spring and summer months and was hopefully not wrecked by another pre-season injury. Beginning with the end of the 2007 season, fans began looking towards winning the big one next year.
The Colts are looking to repeat while 31 other teams look to knock them off of their high pedestal. Raider nation is still grieving about winning the number one pick in the draft because JaMarcus Russell is still having a hold out over his contract. As for teams like the Patriots, they can't wait to begin the season reloaded with a plethora of weapons at their disposal.
As for me, I have no idea what to expect of this new season. It is 100% assured that I will be rooting for my Green Bay Packers to take the championship back to Titletown, USA. I look forward most to matchups with the Washington Redskins and Chicago Bears. Looking forward to the pissed off expressions of friends and roommates when the Redskins lose to the Packers just might make my season. However, knocking off the Bears and the up and coming Vikings on the way to a Super Bowl Victory would be the quintessential end to Brett Favre's career.
More to come after Week 1......
