The State of Colorado falls to Fours

10/28/2007: The Boston Red Sox Sweep past the Colorado Rockies in Four games winning 4-3 in the deciding game.
10/29/2007: Number Four for the Green Bay Packers, Brett Farve, throws an 82-yard strike to his wide receiver Greg Jennings on the first play of overtime to beat the Denver Broncos.

Denver must be turning into the new Cleveland. The city that just can't seem to get a National title or World Championship. The Rockies just made it to their first ever World Series Championship following one of those miraculous runs that makes a championship seem inevitable.

Cleveland on the other hand has made it to numerous championship games only to be put back down by the BoSox in a comeback, the Spurs in the NBA finals in a sweep, and I'll even include a loss by their MLS Team the Cleveland City Stars losing to the Richmond Kickers deep in the playoffs. Championships were not meant to come to the city of Cleveland. Since the departure of Mr. Living Legend John Elway, none are meant to come to the city of Denver either.

Some say that curses live on, even after they are broken. The Red Sox went 86-years without a baseball championship. After the BoSox won in 2004, I heard that one man say to his son, "At least it happened while you were young." The crazy phenomenon of a thing is that a few years later, they are doing it again. This time the father had nothing to say to his son. He merely had an astonished tone in his voice and said, "I can't believe it."

Miracles really do happen in the sporting world. They happen in cities like Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Green Bay, Indianapolis, New York, San Antonio, and San Francisco. None however, are meant to land in the cities of Cleveland or Denver. When will they? Eventually maybe, but not in this lifetime.
